One dreadful evening (October 21st,1999 to be precise) some colleagues of mine and I were very distraught. We were compelled to answer an age old question. Just when exactly was Canadian Halloween? Since we had little knowledge of the historical or festive side of this grand nation we took it upon ourselves to establish a date in which the Canucks could celebrate the holiday that would be only seen in these United States. As you can imagine, this date would have to parallel the one here or at least be little than a few steps behind it. Therefore, it was decide that we would dress up as Canadian Television and Movie personalities. Once again, since we had little knowledge of either of these areas, we were quick to invent some. With this, we made up such costumes with old clothes lying about my place of dwelling. I for example, dressed up as the Canadian equivalent to a Pokemon(those strange little cartoon characters) known as Maplemon, and my friends found similar disguises. With that, we found are way out the door and down my block to the nearest home, and as all 'trick or treaters' do we knocked on the door( but the crucial part to this is you add canadian before 'trick or treat'). As you may have put together, we were either told to 'go away please' or 'get the hell off of my porch' or something to that effect. It seems that people in America will just never accepth the fact that Canadians have the right to celebrate the most evil of holidays alongside their American brethren.
